excellent

We arrived at the restort at 12 at night, reception staff arranged for our luggage to be brought to our appartment, that left us free to get a bite to eat. The grounds of the resort were well maintained. The appartments were cleaned daily, with clean towels. Above all we found the staff very friendly and helpful. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday, thank you.

very peaceful well kept site but accommodation could do with a bit more updating.

Booked a studio with a garden view but when shown accommodation on arrival the studio had a car park view, no bed, only 2 very hard settees, very tiny kitchen and no kettle. We complained that this was not at all what was expected and were given an upgrade to a small one bedroom bungalow with a lovely view towards the sea, with a nice area to sit out, the accomodation, especially the bathroom, could do with a bit of modernisation but had basic necessities. The site itself is very well maintained and the on site shop and cafe were very good and reasonably priced. Did not eat in restaurant as was very pricey, as were the meals in the bar, but the drink was not excessively overpriced.

The best thing about my stay was...

peaceful surroundings

given what I asked for

I made a last minute and cheap booking so had few expectations but requested - a balcony, a garden view, a sea view - and all three were forthcoming - plus a lovely sized room for myself and a friend in a low rise block surrounded by green flowers and quietness. Sheer delight. And then a small, beautifully disguised supermarket, a swimming pool, restaurant and bar as well as a fun train ride to an endless beach. What more can you ask for.

The best thing about my stay was...

Arriving at night and awakening to the sight of the sea

Fantastic Value!

I was amazed at the value for money that Pedras del Rei offered! As a single traveller my apartment was more than big enough and the location is simply beautiful, cactus plants, palm trees and orange and lemon groves will greet you every day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the on site shop is well stocked and inexpensive. The beach is close by, you could use the quaint train but I preferred to walk, and is stunning - miles and miles of golden sands! I would really recommend this place and will definitely stay there again!

The best thing about my stay was...

The wonderful scenery around Pedras del Rei will relax you instantly!

Friendly, nice base for beach day trips

We (couple+2 children) stayed in 1 bedroom house which was comfortable although a bit basic. The place is quiet and near the sea (there is a little train to the beach-- a 5 minute ride). We also enjoyed the pool, which was not crowded early in the morning. We bought food from a local supermarket. The restaurant is not very exciting.

The best thing about my stay was...

The sea

Great base with good facilities

The pictures I'd seen of this accommodation don't really do it justice. Our studio apartment was quite spacious for 2 people, the only weakness being a slightly cramped kitchen. The heater was really appreciated on cool evenings and we were able to enjoy breakfast on the sunny balcony. The whole development was very well cared for & peaceful at the time of our visit in March and on-site services were very good. As our budget was tight we didn't eat out, so can't comment on the restaurant. Pedras d'el Rei made an excellent base for exploring the eastern Algarve and its wonderful bird life.

Family Resort

The accommodation was like a little house which was spacious and clean witha little garden and verandah. Reception was a short 3 minute walk away as was the bus to Tavira. A short walk took you to a small train which (free for residents) took you to the beach. Mainly family orientated with amusements for children. The apartment suited me as it was a quiet resort and I could catch up with my reading material. Taxi to Tavira was around €6. There was a restaurant which I went to each evening and I enjoyed the food there. Staff at reception were very helpful in dealing with my request to print off my boarding card for my retun flight to Dublin. Overall, enjoyable.

Pedras del Rei apartment

Went early March so weather warm and complex quiet and relaxing. We found all staff on site very approachable and helpful. No language problem. Apartment spacious and well equipped including d/washer and w/machine. ( We should have turned on the heating on arrival as bed quite cold.) Asked for microwave and received it immediately. (Need to take your own iron or borrow from reception). Restaurant average price but cooking erratic-some food very good but one meal inedible but reimbursed and given complementary coffee. (Also not sure about chef's menu when given plate of chips and rice for accompaniment.) Easy to take bus to Tavira(excellent and good value food here). Bus fare 1.90 euros for ten minute journey but from Tavira longer journeys were good value. We will definitely return at this time of year.
