Bel Air Hotel

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Bel Air Hotel and have rated 2/5 in comparison to a 3* hotel i visited in Majorca last month. Don't let the low rating put you off as I had a really nice stay here. The hotel rooms really do need renovating as the tiles were chipped, the furniture was very worn but basically the rooms were clean. Food wise I never went hungry and enjoyed the food but if your looking for english food you may struggle here and the hotel doesn't cater for what children usually like. Activities at the hotel are limited and the animation team work very hard with the limited resources they have. The pool are is lovely and very clean but what makes this hotel are the staff everyone that works there is extremely friendly and helpful and give better service than some 5* hotels. In a nutshell if you don't mind staying somewhere that isn't posh or you are on a budget and don't insist on english food then I would definately recomend this hotel.

Mrs

This was my 3rd visit to this hotel and we went to celebrate New Year. The staff are brilliant and all made us feel very welcome - especially the entertainment team Picasso, David and Anis led by the lovely Bebo! They all worked really hard - especially for the New Year Gala dinner which was excellent. There were some problems with a large group of Algerian guys who were there for the New Year celebrations but it seemed that this was fairly typical of a number of hotels in Northern Tunisia. Judging by the number of Algerian registered cars on the road I think the whole country was visiting!! This was not tyical of visits to Tunisia at other times of the year - we have visited lots of times staying in a number of different hotels in Sousse, Port El Kantoui and now Hammamet and this is the first time we have encountered any problems. The weather was great and I can't wait for my next visit!
