favourite London hotel
Alan Hayton, Durham
Great value - Some sites mention dated and in need of refurb. I think it is quaint and old-fashioned style is appealing although the window cleaner could definitely do with visiting !!excellent buffet breakfast - veggies on evening meal would be better if fresh (obviously frozen) but carvery and salad were great. Good Fridays battered fish was like cardboard but the salmon was superb. benefits of buffet option.
The best thing about my stay was...Lovely hotel - great location

In need of refurbishment, but clean and friendly staff. Trip adviser gives this hotel bad reviews that are not true.

Great Location, Stunning Views, Clean and Comfortable hotel.
Emma Murphy, Scunthorpe
We stayed at the Britannia International for two nights. We wanted a reasonably priced hotel in a good location with good facilities as a base for sight-seeing and going to see a show. We were not disappointed. The International is near Canary Wharf in the Docklands Area and very easy to reach by the DLR. Nearest stop is Heron Quay a five minute walk around the corner with trains running every few minutes back into Central London. Ideal! The hotel itself looks as though at one time it was quite swanky but sadly is now a little tired around the edges decor-wise. No issues with cleanliness or comfort but the carpets, wallpaper and furniture are a little old-fashioned. Our room was a spacious double with a pull-out sofa bed for our ten year old daughter. ( My daughter assures me that she was very comfortable). The room has plenty of storage and a decent sized dressing table/desk with hair-dryer and kettle for making coffee/tea. Also pleasantly surprised to find an iron, ironing board and trouser press in the wardrobe. There is a flat-screen tv with all the free-view channels and the room has air-conditioning (which you will need as the windows do not open). The bathroom had toilet, sink and bath with over-bath shower. All very clean, plenty of towels and good supply of hot water. There were leaflets offering room-service and all kinds of spa treatments but we did not use these so cannot comment. The best thing about our room was the fabulous view!! I couldn't stop looking! Views over the South Quay, with all the high-rise towers, the O2 arena and cable-cars and the DLR coming in and out of the Heron-Quay station. There was some noise from the DLR but did not keep me from sleeping at all. We had breakfast included in our price, this was served in Jenny's restaurant on the ground floor with views of the quay. The breakfast was buffet-style and had almost everything you could think of to offer: bacon, sausages, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, black-pudding, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, hash browns, french fries (!!!) fruit, yogurts, cereal, porridge, croissants, danish pastries, toast, tea, coffee, hot-chocolate, and an array of fruit juices orange, apple, grape-fruit and cranberry. A great start to the day. There is also a pizzeria and an Indian restaurant and a bar/pub. We didn't really use these services other than to get a late-night pizza to take up to our room after a night at the theatre. I think it was £8.80 for a 12" margherita and they boxed it up for us to eat in our room. Very tasty. My daughter and I did make use of the pool/spa on both mornings. We did have to pay extra though (£4 for adult £2 for child) and got use of the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam-room. It was never busy and at times we had the whole thing to ourselves. At most there were five of us in the pool. My daughter loved it. As with the rest of the hotel it could do with a little bit of modernisation decor-wise but was clean and well-staffed. There is also a gym in the health club which we didn't use but it did look well equipped. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly, helpful and informative which contributed towards a very pleasant stay. I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint would be that the bedroom windows were quite dirty outside which somewhat spoiled the fabulous vista!

Amazing as always

If your looking for a lovely hotel in London give this a go it's fantastic. We have stayed here on quite a few occassions now and it is ideally situated for trips into the city by underground. Perfect location for taking in a show, concert, sightseeing etc. The hotel it self is welcoming and the staff are very good at what they do. Lots to see and do near the hotel with the museum, shops, river, docks etc. Lovely walk along the river Thames to old pubs like The Grapes, Captain Kid, Prospect of Whitby or Pride of Ramsgate each has its own uniqe feel and is full of history. On a Saturday our favourite trip is: Underground to London Bridge, visit the awsome Borough market....a haven for food lovers. Grab some treats and walk along the Embankment to Waterloo enjoying the sights, cross over the River Thames to Covent Garden. If you still have enough energy make your way though China Town and Soho to the park and have your picnic on the grass with lots of other people chilling out. So much to see and do but sometimes just staying in the hotel relaxing is great and you have the pool and leisure facilities an site as a bonus. The food and bar areas are always lovely and resonably priced....you don't need to go out!
The best thing about my stay was...Getting good deals on the price means we can enjoy some time away together

Great location easy access to main attractions
melanie simpson, Gt Yarmouth
Have used this hotel before so we knew what to expect. Had a double room up on the eighth floor , was very comfortable and clean and tidy. We chose this hotel for the easy access to the 02 arena, one stop on the east jubilee line which was literally minutes walk from the hotel and also a fraction of the cost of a taxi. The swimming pool and facilities were a bonus , although I have to say that the pool area does need a tidy up but a couple of hours chilling with a swim and sauna really started our stay off nicely. The breakfast was good and was included in the price of our stay. All in all a lovely hotel, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Will definitely use again and have already recommended to friends.
The best thing about my stay was...The ease and location of getting to the 02

We were really disappointed as we have a very noisey double bedroom and the that noise was coming from the room's air-condition which kept us awake all night. So that we were very tired the next day to attend our meeting in Canary Wharlf.
Emad Tukmachi, Staffordshire
Although the hotel has a nice and excellent location, but unfortunately they gave us a very bad double bedroom which caused a very bad night sleep for both of us!!!!
The best thing about my stay was...Its location and its view looking at the surrounding.

Not so good
Mrs Murphy, Hertfordshire
Room was available when we got there even though we were early. Room was clean. However the breakfast service let the hotel down. Our room came with continental breakfast. My friend had the continental breakfast but I changed my mind and wanted a cooked breakfast. Instead of being charged the difference (which according to their website was about £3) I was charged £5.50 extra. There were no cups on the tables and when we asked for cups we were told that there were cups on the table. Breakfast staff not very friendly and had to wait for coffee. I complained at the reception but was fobbed off. Also DLR trains noisey waking us at 7am I have stayed at this hotel before, but I wouldn't stay there again.
