Basic, No frills, Please be careful

I thought that for my third time in Ibiza I'd try another hotel. The hotel is clean, no frills, friendly helpful staff, good continental breakfast, lovely lounge, rooftop pool etc For me the biggest disappointment was my room # 410. It was small, no view, no balcony, no air conditioning with a single bed. I'm 1.90 tall so I was sleeping in an alcove with my feet touching the wall, another wall inches from my head & another running down the whole length of my body. Needless to say I did not sleep much or very well for the whole week. I did not let the room spoil my stay but personally I would not stay there again. I would stay in one of the other hotels nearby. I paid a lot of money for a dismal room. The rooms for couples & families may be better but my single room was poor by any standard.
The best thing about my stay was...The location from airport, to the old town, a beach

We're closed we've moved you over there!
It was a windy, rainy, dark night and there were no exterior lights on the property making it hard to find, then, on arrival at the Don Quiote I was greeted by a typed sheet stuck on the inside of the glass doors announcing that the Hotel was closed and I should go instead to the Hotel Central Playa some 30 metres away. The receptionist here was expecting me and 1 was checked in to a fairly ok room for a fairly ok stay. I was offered no explanation or apology for the Hotel change and personally think I should have been told prior to my arrival
The best thing about my stay was...A large triiple room with fridge- I had only booked a single

For the price we paid to stay in the Don Quijote (half board) we weren't expecting too much. And we got what we expected. If you're looking for a base to go out in Ibiza the Don Quijote is perfect; basic accommodation, simple food (evening is better than breakfast), but the lift can be a bit temperamental, and the roof-top pool is more like a splash pool but with the beach so close it doesn't really matter. However the best feature about this hotel is the staff, they are helpful, friendly and can't do enough to help you if you need it.

basic but clean

At the end of the day, if your going to Ibiza your not going to spend a lot of time in your hotel room. This hotel is an excellent location, nice and chilled with mental mayhem a cab ride away if you want it. The room itself was clean, spacious and sufficient to sleep in, get ready to go out and take a shower. Hot water was hit and miss. There was a safe that can be hired for 15 Euro with a 10 Euro deposit, we also had a balcony. Wasn't rating the breakfast, other people seemed to like it. Staff in reception were friendly and helpful. The room had no aircon so we slept with the door open, the biggest problem was noise, not people noise but traffic. What would i change ? A double bed would have been nice and so would aircon, other than that, not a bad place to stay, as they say, you get what you pay for....

With no air conditioning and no external window, this room on the 9th floor was frankly uninhabitable. Spend 10euro extra a night. The location is great and nearby are hotels in the same group called Maritimo and Lux Mar. Stay there instead!

Basic, good location
Dated and basic hotel situated in excellent location in the pleasant resort of Figueretas. Rooftop sundeck, plunge pool and poolside bar ideal for a relaxing few hours. Situated between Ibiza Town and Playa Den Bossa (both a short walk away). Frequent bus service with a stop directly opposite the Hotel but buses very crowded later in the day with people heading to the Clubs in Ibiza Town. Several good restaurants along the promenade and a number of reasonable bars. Note, there is a very high proportion of Gay tourists and this may be disconcerting to some. Families and older couples would be advised to stay elsewhere. Anyone wanting easy access to the clubs in Ibiza Town would probably find this ideal.

We have stayed here before and this time was even better. Yes this hotel is fairly basic but the location is fantastic. You can walk to Ibiza town (handy in August when taxis are rare) or walk into Playa d'en Bossa along the beach which is lovely. We stayed for 3 nights, purpose was going to Space! Some nice bars nearby. Staff helpful, and surprisingly our room got made up each day! This time we had a nicer room on the corner with two windows so there was a lovely breeze through as there is not any air con or fan in the rooms. Overall this is the perfect place for a cheap quick break. Safe and welcoming, but no frills! Beware of one thing though, do not have the coffee out of the machine at breakfast - its grosse! Use the hot water and sachets available instead!

Review of 'DON QUIJOTE'

The hotel itself is a traditional 2/3 star in Ibiza, although the staff were very friendly and the room was exceptionally clean. The room was cleaned every day of the week with new towels being provided automaticly everyday by the maid. The bedding was changed at least 3 times during teh week too.

The downsides are that tehre is no aircon, although our room didnt get teh sun all day so was fairly comfortable.

The major downside was that teh room over looked the sie road and it was constantly busy, esp with people with their hands on there horns all hours of the evening and night.

I loved my stay there in 2004. And was disapointed that it was full when I tried to book for 2005. This small hotel is all you need for a week in Ibiza. Clean, friendly and has got a great roof terrace pool and bar. The bar-tender is friendly and makes a great pina colada. Hope to get back there next year.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
