A very Greek take on a 3 bedroom 'villa'
There are many good things about Govino Bay, including the staff, the landscaped grounds, the pool, and the proximity to public transport, shops and restaurants. The accommodation layout is a bit strange, with some repairs needed, which is why I haven't felt able to score it more highly. There is no balcony on the 3 bed villas but you have a table and chairs at the bottom of the steps up to the entrance. The bedrooms and main bathroom are down a tight spiral staircase, and there is no air con down there, so it can get quite warm. There is also a duplex sleeping area above the main living room. Some of the shutters needed repair and it was quite a performance to align dodgy hinges and get them closed. The kitchen and lounge area was very good - powerful aircon, plenty of room to cook and eat, and decent TV. The bay is scenic and fine to swim it, though it doesn't have the crystal clear waters of others beaches, and the bit right by the complex is a bit reedy. The bus stop is right outside and it is very easy to travel into Corfu town and to other parts of the island. Reception staff are very helpful and happy to advise on times, tickets etc. The busy road was a bit off-putting at first, but it is easy to walk along the beach to Gouvia centre if you want to avoid it. Boat trips and water sports at the next beach along (by Louis Corcyra hotel) are also good. Overall, we had a great time, but just bear in mind that what constitutes a 3 bed villa here is quite quirky!
The best thing about my stay was...Gardens, pool, helpful staff

Clean, spacious but on busy road
Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment, spacious and clean but furniture needs updating. Lovely pool area and gardens, friendly, helpful staff. On very busy dual carriageway so can be noisy if apartment if near. Tavernas nearby, would recommend Romeos and S.O.S for good value.
The best thing about my stay was...Pool and garden area, very clean accommodation.

Beautifully landscaped resort
Mrs Pauline Scott, Blackpool U.K.
Friendly, family oriented resort and very clean, comfortable apartments in lovely landscaped gardens leading down to good swimming pool - with Bar - and the beach area.
The best thing about my stay was...Relaxing, friendly atmosphere, grounds and pool; convenient for buses to most parts of Corfu, and only short walk to village of Gouvia.

This was a last minute booking and was a very pleasant surprise. Staff were friendly and helpful. Accommodation spacious and clean and a nice swimming pool. A mirror and wardrobe in the mezzanine bedroom would be an improvement. Also kitchen utensils could be improved. Otherwise excellent!
The best thing about my stay was...Peaceful setting.

Stayed in a two bedroomed apartment with my partner and two teenage sons. I was amazing at how good the apartment was and the boys loved the high bedroom, which was more like a ceiling studio. I had the more private bedroom. Our room wasn't very big but it was perfect for what we wanted. The open plan living room/dining area and kitchen were of a good size and we never felt over crowded. The pool was great and a good size for the time of year we were there (late April so the season had yet to kick in). I suspect that it would get very crowded peak season. Maids came everyday, except Thursday for some reason. They changed the beds and cleaned the bathroom. If I was to go to Corfu again, I would definitely stay here. I got more than I expected
The best thing about my stay was...Relaxing by the pool!

Uncomfortable accommodation in a tranquil setting
T Jaffray, UK
The bedroom villa was spacious however the 3 main bedrooms were downstairs - access was gained via an old creaky wooden spiral staircase which was unsafe for our 3 year old. The beds were uncomfortable and the furnishings were very basic. The pool was filled whilst we were there but was too cold to swim in. The heating and air con was sufficient. The bay in front of the property was clean but not suitable for swimming in. The beach is made up of rocks and pebbles. There is a nice walk through the neighbouring resort and access can be gained into Govina resort where there are a selection of tourist shops, restaurants and bars. Unfortunately, everything was closed whilst we were there as tourist season does not start til May. The restaurant attached to the hotel served very basic menu items (frozen pizza, burgers, etc). There were ants in the apartment but that was probably down to the safe of thorough cleaning - our two kids constantly dropped crumbs, etc, so that would have attracted the ants but I have to say we were generally disappointed with the lack of cleaning and helpfulness of the staff. One last point, and again, another feature which spoiled our stay was the constant barking of the local dogs. They were non stop. The windows are not double glazed so we heard all sorts of noises including traffic, but the most annoying were the dogs that lived across the bay. The last two nights we actually booked ourselves into the luxury 5 star Imperial hotel up the road (approx. 3 km in Kommono) in order to get a good nights sleep.
The best thing about my stay was...good bus route into corfu town

We stayed at the Govino Bay complex 23rd to 31st October 2014 and found the setting beautiful and the rooms immaculately clean. Staff were helpful and efficient and the hotel supermarket was well priced compared to the outside shops and very handy for all the basics you need from snacks, drinks, fresh bread and milk etc. The pool was well kept and clean with a lifeguard there at all times. The only downside and I don't blame the hotel for this but dogs in the surrounding area were very noisy and their barking started early in the morning - maybe it's not always a problem here but it was annoying during our stay.
The best thing about my stay was...The beautiful setting and the ease of catching local buses.

My Honest Review - Very Nice Place
Govino Bay is a lovely complex situated just 5-10 mins walk into Gouvia a small fairly quiet resort with lots of restaurants and a few shops. The local bus stops directly outside the apartments 10 mins and 2 euro to Corfu Town which is great The complex is lovely and very spaced out with a nice big pool. We went in August and it was never really busy round the pool with plenty of loungers available, if fact some days at even 3:00 pm there was virtually no one there! Great if you don't like it too busy. The apartments are kept spotlessly clean by the maid although are in need of a bit of modernisations as they are a bit dated but fully functional. The cooking facilities could be improved, no toaster. Our kettle stopped working and when reported they said it would be replaced if one was available, it wasn't. Just a management spending issue I guess! They certainly don't look like the one on their website which was the only slight disappointment of our holiday. Overall we had a lovely two weeks a Govino Bay which was around £150 cheaper through Alpharooms than anywhere else even booking direct on their own website.
The best thing about my stay was...Grounds and space in the complex
