6/10 Good

20 October 2014

In need of refurbishment.

On arrival we were put into room 317. The carpet looks at least 10 years old. The bathroom is aged at least 20 years old. The bed is hard, noisy and old again probably 20 years old as you can see by the wooden frame around it. The furniture and fittings were old especially the ironing board that was at least 20 years old and something I would never use. The windows were filthy and did not keep out the noise. The room is over a bar which is very noisy until well into the night and bin lorries turn up very early in the morning, which means you cannot get to sleep and then you get woken up !!!! The best things in the room are the clean sheets and the clean towels. Some lights did not work although one was replaced on our first night. The breakfasts are very good, bacon ,sausage , eggs, tomatoes, cornflakes etc . There is a lounge where you can get wifi ( when it works ). Very few plug sockets in the room and none by any mirrors at all.

The best thing about my stay was...

The Breakfast was the best part of the stay

not the best

when i first got there i was told that the hotel was booked up and that they would send me to a different hotel (even though i had payed my money for that hotel and had confirmation sheets) after 5minutes of looking through the computer i was then told that they are not booked up and that my room was ready(i checked in at 10pm) went up to the room and instead of two single beds it was 1 double, i went down to reception to tell them that it wasn't what i had booked and they told me that they know and when i would come back that it would be sorted came back late that night/early that morning to the same situation.

The best thing about my stay was...

the girls at reception were friendly and seemed to try to help

Excellent location

The Grafton capital is a centrally located hotel walking distance from shops, restaurants etc. the receptionist was very helpful and there is a free copy of the Irish Independent for patrons. The reception area is unimpressive but the rooms are a great size but may need a bit of updating.

The best thing about my stay was...
