This was our first time in Paphos and I was very impressed. Great shops - lots of fake bags, sunglasses, jewellery etc - not particularly cheap but much better quality than you would get in Spain. Paphos town very clean and quite peaceful during the day. Don't know about the nightlife as we stayed in the hotel at night - but we drove through it one night about 8.30 and it seemed to be buzzy and lively. Lovely water park about 10 mins drive from the town - not too huge so doesn't take ages to get round, queues seem to move really quick so not a lot of waiting around and some great water slides and loads of free sunbeds - definately worth a visit. really close to the airport - only a 15 min drive

Friendly, with lots of places of interest

Good bus service into Paphos. The harbour has lots of shops and restaurants to sit and watch the world go by. There are lots of archaeological sites to visit. If you feel a little more adventurous you can hire a car, driving on the left being an advantage if you are from the UK. We braved it into the Troodos mountains to the Kykkos Monastery, well worth the visit, but not for the faint hearted if driving yourself. If you like walking the Akamas is an area of natural beauty with many trails to explore, and only 30km from Paphos. Also the Baths of Aphrodite can be found there. You will need a good map of Paphos if you are Going to explore.

Beautiful City very clean near to the beach

A really beautiful City lots to do plenty of "No hassle" car hire The harbour area is just wonderful with lots of shops and boat hire both cruises or even hire a speedboat yourself. There is a large supermarket right in the middle of the shopping area that offers practically everything from food to clothes etc. The area is particularly clean litter free and plenty of bins to dispose of waste. There are many archalogical sites than can be visited within easy reach "The tombs of the Kings" is one "Aphrodities baths"etc. One should visit Coral Bay just 12 klms from the town center you can catch a bus (615) it only costs one euro and the beach is the best in Cyprus. I went there in the winter (Dec) and it was a wopping 26c cool at night though If you want a good holiday with pleanty of good sunshine then Paphos is the place to be.

Great place to visit

We stayed at this hotel in February 2011 for the children’s half term holiday. my party included adults age 30 & 27 and children aged 6 & 1. We got this half board package very cheap through alpha rooms and wasn’t expecting the quality that we received. We arranged our own flights and got a taxi transfer from Pafos airport for 30euros. The hotel is beautiful, the reception staff were very helpful and polite and went out of their way to assist us when enquiring about outings and places to visit. the hotel room was on the third floor, we wasn’t expecting it to be of the quality it was, the facilities in the room were of a high standard, hair dryer, fridge, mini bar, shampoo & shower gel dispenser, hand soap dispenser, kettle with facilities to make coffee/tea. The cleaners were fab, changed the towels we left on the floor for fresh ones. our holiday highlight was the restaurant, the staff were very professional wearing matching suits, even though it was buffet style they made an effort and were very friendly. The food was amazing!!!!! Every night was a theme, I have to rate the food better than any other country/hotel I have ever been to! Each night the selections could have made 10/12 different meals from what was available. The desserts were immense! The biggest selection of cakes, gateaux, rice puddings, crème caramel, yogurt, ice creams and fresh fruit. The breakfast was just as good if not better; I must mention the fresh pancakes that are cooked for you there and then along with your choice of omelette. Drinks can be paid for each night or added to your room bill which we found convenient. Even though their wasn’t many children the kids club was open and was fab, our son actually cried when we had to leave! The indoor pool and Jacuzzi were good for the not so sunny weather and we did use the outdoor pool once. The amount of sun beds and loungers available is good, they lead right up to the beach, there’s a direct path to the beach from the hotel so you can sit literally seconds away from it and enjoy the view of the pool and beach. The facilities for us around the hotel were good, internet terminals, rent a car desk, hair dressers, massage & beauty treatment room, mini shop / groceries and many places to sit, unwind and relax. I would definitely return to this hotel and will visit some of their others due to how this one was (Louis group). I bet it is lovely in the summer and if they can provide such high service and a good ratio of staff in Feb. then they can only provide more in summer. There is a animal park near by which was good, water park even closer & the harbour is lovely and is only a small walk up the beach here they have boat excursions, many cafes & food spots as well as Pafos castle which for a very small price you can go into and explore. Very happy family..:-)))

A resort that has improved its facilities over the past few years

A friendly relaxing resort with some excellent rest, bars and beaches. Plenty of opportunities for different walks. Some time share [scratchcard] sharks round the harbour area were a nuisance at times but there was less of them than last year. Improvements have been made to roads and paths making walking easier

The best thing about my stay was ...

The variety of places to eat and the lovely coastline
