Beautiful city centre destination

The most beautiful and unspoilt city I have been to. So much to see. A great transport network to get you about. So cheap too. About £4 for a 24 hour tram pass. The trams get you everywhere in the city.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Very close to the old town.

Prague the vibrant & friendly City

Easy to walk alone around the City very safe & friend people willing to help with directions. The biuldings are stunning & so interesting! Charles Bridge is amazing & the City is a real buzz. You can eat cheap our first night meal & drinks cost £8 & other times we splashed with great coffee & cakes in the squares during the day, then more exspensive meals in the evening. Girls can shop until the drop!!!! The cathedrals, churhes & castle are worth a visit.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The structure of the windows & building, changing of the guard etc

Fabulous holiday destination.

I must admit that Mala Strana / Prague Castle area is a top choice for hotel location. I really enjoy the number 22 tram down the hill into the city & enjoy the views of the city en route. There are several local restaurants & bars if you do not want to venture too far from the hotel & a Prague Castle visit is a must.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Top location in Prague.

Mala Strana - a lovely suburb of Prague

Mala Strana, below the Castle, is our favourite part of Prague. It has a variety of restaurants, bars etc.. and is extremely convenient for getting to other parts of the city, either on foot or using trams or tubes. Petrin Hill (by fenicular or on foot) has beautiful views of the entire city and is great on a warm afternoon to have a change from the city.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Its great choice of restaurants and bars and its convenient location.

prague = truely amazing

the mala strana area has evrything you need for sightseein / shops / bars+restaurants every corner you turn your faced with more and more amazing architecture the bars and restaurants offer great value for money - beer 30-40 CZK - around £1.50 - most meals less than a fiver - and all received with great service ***WARNING*** do not go to the Malostranska restaurant on Karmelitska unless you want to get ripped off - everyone who went there got charged alot more than they were expectin due to unwanted extras not asked for or wanted but charged for anyway prague castle is a sight to behold (as is most of prague itself) if you've thought about goin to prague then youve got to do it and see it for yourself

The best thing about my stay was ...

evrything

Still discovering after 6 visits.

Over the river from the tourist traps and still with traditional eateries, especially if you head towards Smichov.Trams are plentiful and Andel metro is nearby. The funicular will take you up to Petrin Park for the lovely walk across to the castle. From the airport get the 119 bus - across the road as you exit. Buy a 26ck ticket from the yellow machine. Get off the bus when it terminates at Djevicka metro, go 2 stops to Malastranka and get on a 12 or 20 tram to Mala Strana Get off when you see the good soldier pub on the left.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The peace of Petrin park.

Amazing

Prague is an amazing city with something for everyone. It is truly romantic and there is so much to see and do with beautiful architecture where ever you turn. You need stout walking shoes if you plan to do everything by foot - which is the best way to get around. I have seen lots of reviews about how far things are to get to, but this is not true...everything is pretty compact, with all the big sites within 15-20 minutes walk.

For me, a very useful centre for exploring the Czech Republic

The castle is imposing and very well worth a visit, but I would suggest eating somewhere more off the beaten (tourist) track where you pay much less. Of interest is the "mini Eiffel Tower", beautifully restored and siuated not far from the funicular which takes you up the hill (it's run by Prague transport so you can use your ticket on this too). You can either walk up the tower or pay a bit extra to take the lift. Either way the result is a magnificant view of the city!

The best thing about my stay was ...

Its contrasts: you can enjoy either the bustle of the square area or quietude of the nearby park

Prague 20 years on

I travelled to Prague 20 years ago and wanted to see how it had changed. Obviously the architecture is as beautiful, although some newer buildings have appeared but they do not seem out of context. There were far more tourists about and now you have to pay to go into places which were free last time I went. It is not particularly cheap compared with other central/eastern European capitals.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The wonderful architecture
