Tallinn is the capital of Estonia and is characterised by its cold winters, cool springs and warm summers. Granted World Heritage status in 1997, Tallinn’s picturesque Old Town is one of the best preserved in Northern Europe with its winding cobbled streets which date back as far as the 11th century. During the day visitors can experience the city’s wide selection of museums, galleries and churches and let loose at night in the thriving bars and clubs. Over the past ten years the city has seen a large increase in tourism due to the arrival of low-cost flights, which has lead to a lot of improvements across Tallinn, making it a safe and easy city to navigate.

GREAT CITY FOR 3-4 DAY BREAK

WHAT A SUPERB CITY. OLD TOWN IS BRILLIANT WITH ITS COBBLED STREETS AND ALLEYWAYS. PLENTY OF SHOPPING IF REQUIRED. VISIT TO OPEN AIR MUSEUM IS A MUST. BUSES AND TRAMS CHEAP BUT IF 4 PEOPLE IT AS PROBABLY JUST AS CHEAP TO USE TAXIS. NOMME GETS A GOOD WRITE UP IN GUIDES BUT NOT REALLY WORTH THE JOURNEY. EXCELLENT EATING PLACES.

The best thing about my stay was ...

JUST WALKING AROUND AND STOPPING FOR COFFEE AND PEOPLE WATCHING.

Tallinn - very clean & well worth a visit

Tallinn is a very nice city, eating in the square with a beer is advisable but more expensive than down one of the rear ally ways. Very clean, no trouble or sign of any trouble at all - would advise going there with any age group or a nice romantic couples weekend break. Good night-life for all ages as I went with a group of lads & watched the euro matches there but mingled with couples & the locals in a very relaxed atmosphere. Very enjoyable & recommended

Tallin is suberb for a city break

Very clean city, no litter. Lots of eating places with wide price ranges. Hop on bus tours very good as one price gives admission to three different tours. Transport is very good and one ticket can be used on bus, tram and trolley service. No 1 tram takes you to The Kadroig Park which is a must

The best thing about my stay was ...

Friendly, clean, safe and easy to get around.

Very good for perhaps a week's stay

A lovely old city with very many attractions, parks, museums, churches and eateries by the dozen. We were spoilt with good weather, but I am sure it would still have been appreciated had the weather been less kind.

Good City Break

Pleanty of bars and restaurants. A .5ltr bear varied from 2.7 to 5.00 euro depending on where you go. Eating out there is loads of choice but again check the prices before sitting down. 2 days is enough really as there is not much outside the city, but it is a beutifull city.

Interesting Capital

Lovely old town area, friendly people, all very clean, tidy, and well presented. Lots of interesting features. Country has lots of trees, quite flat, pleasant feel. Drier, warmer and sunnier than UK summers.

Romantic escape

The old city is a must see~ and is very romantic. We have also been to a few shopping mall: the prices aren't low, so it's not a shopping destination for sure... The restaurants, taxi and transportation however are good value!

The best thing about my stay was ...

Quite good value~ eurozone~

A very interesting city

Tallinn is a fantastic place, the old part of town is full of history, the people are friendly. Plenty of places to eat and drink, bit more expensive than we expected. I would recommend the City Tour bus, 16 euros and that includes 3 routes which take you to different parts of the town. It didn't get dark until nearly midnight so was perfect for wandering round taking photos, a very safe and clean place.

A Great Place for a City Break

City tour has to be the best value for money and you get to see lots of interesting things.Paid 13 Euros and went on all 3 tour lines, brilliant. A visit to the local flea market by the railway station is a must.Take a trip over to Helsinki from the ferry port, a brilliant day out. The old town in Tallinn is beautiful but wear sensible shoes as the cobbles make it difficult to walk on.We didn't see much of the new part of the city but for those interested in technology this is the place to visit. There are hundreds of restaurants all varyying in price, so there is something for everyone. The airport is small and I think quite new very clean and some lovely shops. They even have a smoking room a rareity these days.Speaking of smokers you can't buy English cigarettes there but there are lots of others to choose from.Goods to buy have a strong Nordic influence but jumpers etc are expensive and whilst reindeeer jumpers, hats and scarves are the norm over there, don't think they go down too well in the UK.The market stalls mostly have visa machines so that indicates the prices.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Worth a visit if you get a cheap flight.

The commercial part of the city is like any other and it's the old town that makes the visit. Cobbled streets, old buildings and a picturesque main square gives the feel of a Disney movie. It's quite steep in places and we found it best to start at the top and work your way down to the bottom. There are lots of bars & retaurants, we found the best value and food was down the many little side streets rather than the main square. Going as a couple would be ideal, if I was on a stag do, I'd prefer Prague!

The best thing about my stay was ...

Picturesque.
