Cheap Holidays to Aveiro
The town of Aveiro can be found on the western coast of Portugal. This resort is famous for its canals and lagoons, known as 'the Ria'. It has two sandy beaches which are a little out of the town centre, so it's best to drive or use one of the city's free bicycles. Near the beach is a mini-golf course and there are some watersports and fishing available. It's a compact but busy town that is easily accessible on foot with some restaurants, clubs and bars but little to do beyond sightseeing - you may want to hire a car to explore further afield.
Who should go?
This town is best suited to those looking for a sightseeing holiday and wishing to explore some of Portugals history. There is much architecture to admire and some people will love using the canals as a relaxing way of getting around.
The Convento de Jesús is a magnificent example of Baroque style architecture. The building now also incorporates a museum with many artefacts and examples of art on view.
