A quiet and relaxing village in the Sierra Nevada. It has one main street of bars/shops and most visitors seem to be either couples (mix of nationalities), older people on day trips to the spa, or families. It feels very safe and the bars are friendly with tasty good value tapas. The surrounding scenery is stunning and being fairly high up, many of the hotels have great views overlooking the arab castle and mountains. The centre has a number of fountains providing spring water said to have healing qualities. They were certainly useful in the very hot afternoons! We used it as a base for a relaxing few days before heading on to the busy city of Granada, which is a bus ride away from Lanjaron.
