pretty coastal village feel

We loved La Cala, a very pretty area full of character, with an old Spanish feel. The beach is very clean, having just won an award, uncrowded with a good selection of small bars and very good restaurants. The Saturday market is very interesting.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Its lovely clean beach and selection of shops and amenities

safe, peaceful and clean,

The resort is in a very peaceful, smart, clean and safe area. There are lots of restaurants around to choose from. The beach is lovely! The only problem was the fact that there is no direct transport from the airport if you are not able to book the transfers and need to use taxi instead - expensive.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The beach

One of my favourite places

This was our second trip to Mijas and we will definately return. Must do's are Mijas village and horse and carriage ride. Belamadena Cable cars and falconary show. La Cala village has really lovely restaurants, the Terrace is very nice and reasonably priced, al gustos, next to the irish bar is also really good. Its well worth driving along to cabopino beach and Marina just passed Cala Honda, all the restaurants are great, even the beach hut makes a great paella. The beach is musch nicer than La Cala, especially if you have children. If you have children the selwo Zoo at Estepona was also very good, as is furengerola water park (not the best or biggest if your comparing with Florida! but quaint, reasonably priced and enjoyable). Belamadena Marina and Puerto Banus are also worth a visit.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Something for everyone

Heart - La Cala de Mijas

Been coming here for a few years now and family members have visited frequently over the last 25 years. Getting very popular with UK visitors after a lot of tv exposure on A Place in the Sun There is a village atmosphere in La Cala, a lovely beach, though the sea has a steep shelf to be aware of and plenty of character. Plenty of cafes and restaurants, prices have increased noticeably. Talking to the local property agents prices are on the rise for holiday homes and there are plans to build a water park further up in the hills. A must is a visit to Mijas Pueblo, by bus or taxi (20 Euro each way). A very quaint village with breath taking views over the Costa and mountains. Mijas Costa is ideal for a relaxing holiday and can not recommend it highly enough

The best thing about my stay was ...

Location, character, beach, sea front walkway

La Cala Mijas Costa is a small urbanisation, good bars & restaurants

This area is what you want it to be, it an be a quiet get away from it all by avoiding the late bars and restaurants or it can be fun and lively with a variety of entertainment. It is a good base for walking in the La Cala hills, golf or day trips to Marbella, Puerto Banus & Fuengirola. The local market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings is well worth a visit.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Lovely beach, variety of bars & restaurants & entertainment
