Hotels and Apartments in Santa Susanna

Located on the Costa Maresme, this region offers a more traditional and authentic Spanish feel but it is more than suitable for the hardened holidaymaker. There is a wide range of hotels in Santa Susanna that are geared up for those who are looking for a reasonably priced holiday. This resort is bathed in sunshine and surroundings that are astounding in every sense of the word and that forms a great location for the many apartments on offer. Take in the natural beauty of the greenery beyond the strip or find a place in the middle of town. There are all- inclusive Santa Susanna Hotels that enable you to be waited on or there are apartments that provide you with a holiday that is in your control.

About Santa Susanna

It is not just about cheap holidays to Santa Susanna because this glorious resort is situated on a coastal strip that offers a rugged beauty that pairs up well with the glistening sea and golden sands. It has a myriad of bays and coves nearby making it possible for you to find your haven of paradise.

The town has a very laid-back feel and with its position between the powerful mountains and the Mediterranean Sea its vibe is one of a town that has simply watched time pass by. This is a resort that is not only popular with foreign tourists but also Spanish tourists and that is all down to its traditional settings as well as its historic background.

Where to stay in Santa Susanna

As Santa Susanna has been a popular resort for the Spanish for many decades, it is already set-up for foreign tourists. This means that there are a number of hotels that offer comfortable accommodation, all-inclusive options and cheap holidays to Santa Susanna. For the holidaymaker, this means that there is something for all and because of its impressive surroundings there is always spectacular views on the ready, whether that is the shimmering Mediterranean Sea or the rugged mountains.

What to See and do in Santa Susanna

Santa Susanna is perched alongside the seeping, golden sands of the beach and with this comes the calm seas that are suitable for paddling or watersports. Jet skis can be hired or if you prefer you can take off from the back of a boat and soar in the skies doing a spot of parasailing, providing superb views of the coastline.

If you find that you need to get away from the beach then why not take a trip to Barcelona? A day trip to this impressive city will enable you to soak up its bustling atmosphere while walking Las Ramblas and taking a break in one of the many bars for a cold beer or a coffee.

Heading back to the coast, if you like to ride the waves then a catamaran cruise will take you along the coast for three hours to see exactly how this impressive Spanish coastline looks from a different perspective. The cool sea breeze and the warm sunshine all make this a trip to remember.

If the children or the adults for that matter, enjoy the thrill of fast slides and getting soaked then a trip to water world will certainly help to release some of that excitement.

Night Life in Santa Susanna

Santa Susana is not known to be the hottest nightspot in the region but this could be a positive for many. However, there is still a great selection of bars that serve tasty cocktails and local beers until the early hours, enabling you to make the most of your evenings if you wish.

If you are a family and want an exciting night out then the medieval banquet at Castell Medieval del Comte de Valltordera in the nearby village of Tordera will give the children the buzz of watching a display of flamenco, jousting and duels.

What to Eat in Santa Susanna

If traditional Spanish food plays a big part in your holiday then you should take a trip to the smaller villages nearby. Villages such as Pineda de Mar will serve traditional local dishes that are based around locally caught seafood and this includes fish stew, anchovy dishes and lobster with chicken. If you prefer a more simple approach when it comes to food then there is no shortage of restaurants that offer a wide range of dishes including steak, pasta, pizza and Mexican.

Shopping in Santa Susanna

Galeries Pins is a modern shopping centre located in the town and it is a big hit with the locals. This is where they pick up their clothing and to browse the latest fashions amongst other things. It is a great place to spend a few hours. Despite this, if you want to keep to traditional then head to the market that takes place every Tuesday. Here you will find fresh produce, flowers, shoes, clothes and souvenirs so it is definitely worth a visit.

How Much Spending Money Will you Need?

Due to Santa Susanna’s more traditional undertones, it is possible to holiday on a smaller budget. When it comes to eating out, a meal for two can be enjoyed for an average of 30 Euros but there are other restaurants that offer meals at a cheaper price. Local beer can be purchased for just 2 Euros while a soft drink will cost less than 2 Euros. Taxis will begin at around 3 Euros while an additional charge of 1 Euro per Km will be added to the fare.

Peaceful and relaxing but handy for trains!

Santa Susanna near the beach is little more than a cluster of hotels and shops but is low key and peaceful. A walk inland will take you to the small town of Santa Susanna, nice to walk around. Along the front you can walk as far as you like really- and get the train back if your legs are tired! We walked to the end of the beach in Callella- wanted to go to St. Pol de Mar but too far-looks nice. Convenient for trains to Girona and beyond and also Barcelona. Will definately go back again. I think this is a pretty but underrated part of Spain. Almost forgot to mention cycle paths!

Great market stalls at night

Santa Susana is a lovely resort with plenty to do and waterparks with free bus services operating from various hotels. The stalls at night are a must to look around and there are a few disco's and plenty or eateries and bars to choose from. It is very close to Malgrat which also has plenty to see and shops! There is also a large play park in Malgrat which is great for kids.
