10/10 Amazing

Lovely base to explore with great shopping area

A great area to explore the highlands within easy reach of Loch Morlich and the Cairngorms, take a ride on the funicular railway to the top station. So much to do at anytime of year

The best thing about my stay was ...

For us is being close to the Cairngorms for the snow!

A gorgeous town which is overlooked by Cairngorm Mountain..

I've repeatedly visited Aviemore for approximately 20 years or so and I've grown to love it. There are so many varied sports and activities on offer, great walks, beautiful scenery particularly in winter when it is nothing short of stunning! For anyone who likes to eat out there is a fantastic choice of bars and restuarants. The railway station is right in the centre and we took the train to Inverness for a day which was a lovely change. Not too expensive either.

The resort was very disfunctional and unwelcoming

Aviemore itself is great with lots of things to do and being keen outdoors people we love what Aviemore has to offer. However, the MacDonald resort could be so much better and it is a shame that it doesn't compliment what Aviemore is all about. The hotel is trying to be something it's not.

Skiing and outdoor activities
