2/10 Okay

23 December 2014

Great hotel - poor quality room

Hotel itself was beautiful, although due to check in being 3pm and with plans for the evening I never got to use any hotel facilities such as spa, first room was awful and toilet didn't flush, 2nd room provided was clearly a single occupancy room with a double bed forced inside it, needed updating, bed creaked at the slightest movement, very unpleasant to endure all night, bed linen wasn't clean - I didn't expect to see marks on a white duvet cover, couldn't adjust the temperature of the Taps in the bathroom, scalding hot so unable to use shower and brushed my teeth with hot water... Unpleasant. Staff in the breakfast hall and throughout were amazing, friendly, happy and a great atmosphere. Due to me not booking directly with the hotel they were unable to offer any refund on my stay, that said a refund wasn't really what I wanted... Expected much better from the hilton chain, may as well booked a budget hotel for the quality of the room / problems..

The best thing about my stay was...

Staff, atmosphere

Nice hotel but...

A nice hotel, but to be honest my room, as well as some of the public areas. are a little shabby and need refurbishment. The breakfast, although plentiful, wasn't of the highest quality either - the bacon and scrambled eggs were particularly noxious. Having said that, the staff are great and can't do enough for you. The spa also looks very good, although I didn't have the time to use it. Will probably choose to stay elsewhere next time.

The best thing about my stay was...

The bed was very comfortable :)

An excellent one-night stay

We booked two rooms in May to attend the Professional Darts Tournament at the Brighton Centre and both were exceptionally clean and spacious. The breakfast was to die for! Unlimited buffet from wonderfully fresh bread and rolls, steaming hot pots of coffee and tea, fruit, cereals, omelettes while you wait - in fact lacked nothing. The staff were all very attentive and polite. Can highly recommend.

The best thing about my stay was...

The yummy breakfast!!
