Resort Info

Brussels

Belgium’s capital city, Brussels is a sophisticated city with a lively atmosphere. It hits the headlines more often for its modern role as capital of the European Community, but its historical centre will appeal to the short break visitor. The Flemish quarter contains the most well known sites including the stunning Grand Place and the surrounding cobbled streets where you will find Belgium’s famous mascot, the Mannekin Pis. During the day you can stop at one of the many pavement cafes to sample the famous beers or head to Avenue Louise for excellent shopping. In the summer months, Sunday mornings can be spent browsing around the flower market in the Grand Place or the antiques at the Place du Grand Sablon. Brussels has plenty to do at night – try the many theatres, cinemas, concerts, jazz clubs and discos.

A 3 night stay in September 2011

The hotel is very close (approx 200mts) to the Garre de Nort (Brussels North) train station. From Brussels Airport it is 1 stop away the farw is €5.40 and take approx 10mins. Trains are very regular every 15 mins or so. The hotel is ideally located with the main pedestrianiswed shopping street approx 50mts from the front door. It is about a 10 min walk to Le Grand Place and all the Bars and restaurants associated with the area. Rogier Metro station is just outside the Hotel and very usful for getting around (we visited the Atomium via the Metro). The Hotel is bright, Clean and Modern on the inside. The staff are courtious and friendly. Our big let down however is the Room, although clean and modern it was the smallest room I have ever stayed in (more like a prison cell). The Double bed was pushed against the wall to allow a narrow gap on th eother side to walk along the bed. Looking at the Floor plan on the back of the door our room was the smallest on our floor (floor 2). To be fair, we dodn't ask to be moved which I regret. On the Friday when we checked in the Hotel was quiet and there would have been other rooms available. However on Saturday the Hotel was very busy with Coach loads of tourists ariving and one can't help thinking that the tour companies were being given priority on room allocations.

The best thing about my stay was...

Beautiful City with a great history.

Love this hotel. Great location, wonderful staff especially the barman Armand. The variety at breakfast was also very good and they manage to keep it all very fresh. I will stay there again. My only complaint is the high cost of the internet in the room although you can access it more cheaply if you use the business centre at 0.35 euros per minutes as oppose to 12 euros per hour in the room!
