not bad not good
Aidan Brown, Newcastle England
The breakfast was exceptional and just what I wanted in the lovely sunshine. The staff were not unpleasent but not friendly at all. The room had electrical problems ie; light swiches hanging off the wall with live wires showing. When I advised staff I was met with a shrug. The same response was given when I advised staff of the cockroaches in the bathroom. The area around the hotel was very good with restaurants bars and good bus service. Taxis were on strike when I was there. I will go back to Ixia but not to the Lito hotel.
The best thing about my stay was...Breakfasts and the surounding area.

We chose a small family run hotel out of preference and got just that. The younger members of the family are very pleasant people to do business with. The old man is Mr Grumpy in the extreme and the less he has to do with either the staff or the public the better. The hotel is clean and well located, has a good lift, a decent pool and there are both a cash machine and bus stops just outside. The breakfast is basic Greek and unvarying save for the type of melon or the sweetbread on offer. There are always cheap white bread rolls (those with digestive problems or allergies beware), boiled eggs, two meats and a hard cheese, diced tomatoes, fresh melon, tinned peaches with yoghurt and honey available to add. The cheap mediterranean idea of cornflakes is the only cereal. There is both tea, coffee or fruit juice on offer. The tea is made in a water boiler so don't expect a tasty cuppa. The fruit juice is very diluted so you do get a drink albeit of either "weakest Grapefruit" or "weakest Orange". Our room had a small balcony shaded for most of the day but with a sea view. The towels were changed every day and the beds changed three times a week. More over we had a proper bath with shower over, although the bathroom was small. The room had a TV, fridge and safe. The hotel website stated hairdryers and we had to ask at reception for one to be provided. A new one was supplied within a couple of days since their stock had been taken by the sadder types of guests. The local restaurants are a little expensive by comparison with the ones on the edge of Rhodes at Windy Bay. Look out for the Four Stars where food quality is exceptional and the prices reasonable. The exterior is very weather beaten but hygiene standards are good. For those who do suffer from digestive and allergenic complaints, the local supermarkets sell a range of preservative free breads, including strong brown, hi-fibre breads. Keep them in the fridge and take them to your breakfast table.

we stayed here in may 2003 after booking into hotel natalie whichwas changed to the lito just weeks before departure. the hotel was very clean tho did have a rickety lift but when you book in and need to lug your cases up u need to use it. breakfast was basic but if you dont get there early enough you are left with next to nothing to choose from, within 3 days we were having breakfast in local tavernas. hotel clean and staff friendly tho we never saw our rep, pool cleaned daily and plenty of room round pool, tho it was just start of season. we had view of bay from balocony and was great 1st thing in morning before sun came round. cleaned everyday and fantastic size wet room tho do reccomend wearing flip flops in shower so ou dont go sliding over the tiles. ixia is fantstic place if you dont want to busy with plenty to see and do, taxi to rhodes town only 5 euros so cheap as chips for change of scenery. we are going back this year to rhodes but pefkos to get married and have already booked for august 2008, rhodes HERE we come lol!!!!!!!!!!!1
