Disappointments. We were not informed re the Xmas package deal which caused us problems!
David Mccann, Paphos
ROOM VERY GOOD BUT TOO HOT. SERVICE EXCELLENT, STAFF FRIENDLY AND PLEASANT AND LADY CLEANER MARVELLOUS AND EFFICIENT. WE WERE NOT INVITED TO THE XMAS PACKAGE DEAL YET BOOKED OUR 5 DAY XMAS BREAK LAST JUNE. UNKNOWN TO THIS DEAL, WE WENT INTO XMAS LUNCH DESPITE BEING HALF BOARD AND IT CAUSED DISRUPTION AND WE HAD TO PAY MONIES FOR THE EXTRA MEAL WHICH WAS NOT GOOD. THEREON ON THAT SAME EVENING WE WERE TOLD THAT WE HAD TO EAT IN THE BAR AND NOT IN THE RESTAURANT WHICH WAS AWFUL AND LUKEWARM FOOD. THE SAME HAPPENED BOXING DAY EVENING SO WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED AT THIS TREATMENT. WE LEFT A WRITTEN COMPLAINT WITH THE MANAGER BUT HAVE HEARD NOTHING DESPITE LEAVING OUR 2 EMAIL ADDRESSES. WE WERE HOPING TO STAY AGAIN THIS COMING EASTER BUT ARE HAVING DOUBTS? WHY WERE WE NOT INFORMED ABOUT THE XMAS DEAL? THERE WAS NO ENTERTAINMENT WHICH WAS AGAIN DISAPPOINTED SO NOT MUCH TO DO DURING THE EVENING AND THE HOTEL NOT BEING LOCAL. WE SEEMED TO RETIRE TO OUR ROOM FAR TOO EARLY.
The best thing about my stay was...THE LUXURIOUS SURROUNDINGS OF THE HOTEL AND THE FREE BUS SERVICE INTO KYRENIA.

I loved it here, it offered all I needed.
Val. Bow. London., London.
arrived late at night, so first thing next day was amazed at beautifull Hotel, views, pools best ever, and loungers, there was always excellent choice of food and very fresh, some staff seemed to be under pressure, but were always polite and did their best to please, room was excellent, and lovely bathroom, if you want a complete chill out week to relax, and feel special then go, I was treated very well, fab patio areas everywhere, and very expensive loungers and sofas, entertainment in the evening was very good, I would 100% go back. The only downside would be flying to Istanbul and sitting on runway for over an hour waiting for new crew to get on plane, Val. Bow. July 2012.
The best thing about my stay was...it lived up to what I was wishing for, I went July 2012

Wish we had stayed longer

Excellent service - lovely room with great views. The food was very very good, lots of choice and fresh. The pools are magnificent and kept very clean. If I had to identify a down side it would be difficult, but have to say the Carnaro Beach looked very tired, but the water was clear as crystal. Would recommend this hotel as first class.
The best thing about my stay was...Everything at the hotel

Enjoyed our short stay very much.

The rooms were very large and very comfortable. I would definately book the Malpas Hotel again. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful.
The best thing about my stay was...The fantastic views from the hotel.

Not a family hotel
Upon arriving, this hotel is very impressive, it looks good and the door service was very good. The rooms were very nice, clean and spacious and the facilities looked very good. There was a good selection of food, which was very nice. Unfortunately for us, we went the week of Valentines day. This is where I felt the hotel fell short. They appeared to favour guests staying for that particular night, rather than guests already booked into the hotel for the duration of the week. This night wasn't child friendly at all and our table was laid out for two, when we had our 6yr old with us too. We also went with my brother, wife and son, so expected to be seated with them on a table for 6, like we had been previously. When I complained to the Manager, reluctantly he placed us on a table for 6 at the very front of the restaurant where the band was playing, so it was very loud. We shared the table of 6 with 3 other guests, who had also been moved due to being split up. They placed my brother and his family on a table next to us which had half eaten rolls on it, from the people who had complained and moved previously. My brother and his family moved to the bar area and asked to be fed there. They didn't receive their dessert, which was a heart shaped cheesecake which we had to share between 3 of us. The people on the table with me and my family had taken their hearing aids out because the music was so loud. The food looked lovely, but there was no concession for Children. I asked the manager for something for my son, and he said that it was a special valentines menu. When I explained that my son was only 6 and was not looking to be laid, I was offered a plate of chips and rice for him. This night completely ruined our stay there. The indoor pool was only heated for a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours in the afternoon, therefore if you missed these times the pool was literally freezing! We braved it once and then didn't bother again, which was a shame as my son loves going in the pool. The hairdryers in the rooms were like a small hoover pole which wasn't affective at all, therefore I suggest people take their own hairdryers to the hotel if staying there. The first night I dried my hair in the changing area by the pool, after that I bought myself a hairdryer from a supermarket. Also, we only had 2 bath and hand towels in our rooms when there were 3 of us in each room. My brother asked for another towel to be supplied and it never was. We didn't have any help with our luggage when we left the hotel. On a positive note, the bar staff were very friendly and very nice. If we didn't have the children with us, we may've enjoyed our stay there a bit more. Due to the customer service provided, I rate this hotel a 3 star, as a 5 star hotel would bend over backwards to ensure you had a good stay there. I feel that the hotel should've definitely offered an alternative menu in the bar area on Valentines night for families staying there. I felt like I really put the Manager out by asking for something different for my son and for asking us for suitable seating for the 3 of us (or 6 of us, as it should've been). I would not stay there again and would opt for the Acapulco Beach Club Hotel, where we stayed last time, as the Acapulco's customer service was excellent and were very child friendly.

We have stayed in nicer 5*
Anne Blyth, Huddersfield
The 5* Malpas has lovely rooms and first class facilities but the food was not 5* and the Hotel has a policy of not bringing in your own food and drink.......the Hotel prices were extortionate......we would not go back to the Malpas for the latter reason.
The best thing about my stay was...The pool and facilities
