Standard but very good
My friends and I stayed here over a weekend and found it very good. The standard is 3 star but you get what you pay for. The staff were very helpful and I would definitely recommend if your on a low budget as you will get your money's worth.
The best thing about my stay was...Standard

great hotel, great location
the hotel is clean with big rooms and great views of harbour and old town. Breakfast was good, it was continental breakfast.Great location, just a 2 min walk and your into the old town and 1 min from the harbour. Taxi from airport was only 8 Euros. We got a great deal on Alpharooms, would definetly stay here again!!

Good quality hotel within walking distance of the old town
Gary, Glasgow, UK
Myself and two friends stayed at the Metropol for a weekend break from 13th to 16th June 2014, each having single rooms. The hotel is just 200 metres from Viru, a street with bars and restaurants leading through the old town to the main square. The rooms were clean, well decorated and the bathroom appeared to have been refurbished within the last few years. The buffet breakfast included some hot items (scrambled egg, hotdogs and fish) as well as cereal, toast and cold meat/cheese. We never got the use of the sauna as it was only free 2 specific times, otherwise 25 euros! The bar was functional but closed at 10pm, after which you could take advantage (?) of the Kareoke bar next door. ... SS, different country. Oh well it provided a laugh when returning to the hotel at the end of the night. Tip1: Avoid the pricey bars in the main square (7 euros per beer). Instead, walking along Viru, go left up the narrow street next to Mcdonalds and you'll find bars and restaurants where the locals go (3-4 euros per beer). Tip2: Be careful choosing a taxi. Taxi fares are unregulated and range from 0.45 to 4.50 (or more) per kilometer plus base fare (about 2 euros +). Prices must be displayed on the side window.
The best thing about my stay was...Checking out non-touristy eating and drinking places

The Metropol is fab!
Cindy, East Anglia
What a great hotel ... our room had views over the port and also the old town - one of the best hotel room views we've had. The staff are efficient and helpful. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the sights of Tallinn. We couldn't fault anything and would recommend highly - we will return!
The best thing about my stay was...The view from the room.

It was our first time in Tallinn, Estonia and I am glad I picked Metropol Hotel: I read in reviews on TripAdvisor that Hotel Stroomi was too far, even though the price is cheaper and the hotel newer~; but I decided to book @ Metropol Hotel for the location: it was a very good choice. Of course the TV is old, and there is no bath; but there is a big shower (and you're not traveling to watch TV anyway~). Fare by taxi from the airport: 8 EUR (for two persons it's great!). There is a restaurant called VAPIANO just one block away from the hotel. We didn't take the breakfast included and we were right: there are many places around the hotel to discover. You are just one street away from the romantic old town of Tallinn. You can take any transport to other places of the city easily. There is a small playground for kids next to the hotel: which is good to do a bit of exercises. I will definitely come back to this hotel if I go back to Tallinn!

Great value, clean and tidy. great location.
It's not the Ritz, but for the money we paid is was above our expectations. The rooms are quite big and clean and tidy, room service every day with clean towels. The breakfasts are basic, but again, for the money it was fine. The Karaoke bar on the ground floor was not our thing and it went on 'til 3am which may have been loud if your room was on the first/second floor, we were on the fourth and I could hear the bass a little. Ask for an upper floor maybe! All in all, great location for the old town and port.

Metropol Tallinn Good Hotel in Good Location
A trip from the airport should cost no more than 15e even in a mini bus but you may get charged more so barter with the driver, hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the main square but only 2 mins from the Venus club. Don't have a drink on the main square as it will cost you 6e go down any of the side streets even only a few meters off the square and it'll be about 3e.
The best thing about my stay was...Bar with no name
