close enough to the centre to walk but far enough to be quiet
The hotel was great, the only problem was that alpha rooms.com never actually booked us into the hotel, I had the alpha rooms print out and the hotel upgraded us for free despite it not being their fault, (well done O'Callaghans, we'll be back)
The best thing about my stay was...The standard and location of the hotel suited us perfectly

We stayed here for two nights and were delighted with the hotel! A brilliant location, large bedrooms, modern decor, high standard of cleanliness and friendly staff. The only possible down side to the location was that our room was to the front of the hotel and it was noisy due to traffic. However this wouldnt stop me from staying again!

Poor, Poor, Poor......

This hotel should certainly not be rated 4 star. The positives - location - on St Stephens Green and 2 mins from Grafton Street. The bedrooms are modern with comfy beds. The negatives - the lobby area is grubby with worn furniture and is totally soulless, the Pie Dish Bistro where breafast is served is a horrible room with threadbare seating and stained carpets. The breafast was abysmal with watery, tepid scrambled egg, over cooked bacon, blackened mushrooms and some tired looking black pudding. The bar area again would need a complete overhaul and when I stayed on a Friday it was empty - no wonder!!! Definitely could not recommend this hotel.

Stayed one night when in Dublin for the rugby semi-final of the Heiniken. This is a very good hotel in a great location on St Stephen's Green right beside the LUAS teminus and only a few yards from the top of Grafton street. The reception staff were great and very helpful as the match was at an awkard time to book in and then get across town for the match they facilitated us with an early check in. The beds are huge and really comfortable and the giant rain shower was brilliant to revive me after a day (and night)on the Guiness. Breakfast was conventional but well cooked and plentiful. It will get my business again.
The best thing about my stay was...The staff at reception and the comfortable beds.

My husband & I stayed in Stephens Green Hotel last weekend. Hotel is good, clean & modern without being especially fancy. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Location couldn't be better, right on the corner of the green, 2 minutes to grafton street etc and just beside the Luas stop. Would go back.
