8/10 Great

Nice and friendly hotel

We stayed at the Osimar for 2 nights and found it to be a perfect hotel for our little break. The rooms are basic but we spent very little time in it. The staff are really friendly and very helpful.

The best thing about my stay was...

The friendly/ helpful staff

Triple room for 3 night for €80 each - you can't beat that.

I can't fault the Hotel Osimar in terms of the room and Staff. We were 3 young males seeking a good deal and found one in Osimar. Some reviews say it's really far from the city... this is true but there are 2 metro stops 10 minutes walk away. It's on the blue line and we didn't need to make any change overs at Termini, only when we were leaving for the airport. The Metro will get you into town in 10 minutes and is simple to use. €1 gets you anywhere in the city (metro stops) and is a big saving over taxi's. Another party of friends stayed in a 3 star in the city centre for 2 to 3 times the prices. I was shocked when I seen the hotel, some of the rooms were small and dirty with no aircon. - It made me smile a little knowing that we got a better deal. Things to consider: - If you're not a fan of metros then this is not the place for you, taxi's into the city will cost a future and will make up for the difference in price compared to a city centre hotel. Buses: - sorry never need to get one so can't say! Breakfast: - anyone looking for a fry-up in Rome should stay at home. The breakfast was fine, would have preferred fresh coffee instead of a machine. Wifi: - most phones now have wifi and Osimar provides it for free and it was handy for avoiding expensive roaming data charges. Staff: most had enough English to get the required information.

The best thing about my stay was...

Clean room and nice staff.

For every nasty Italian, there is also a nice one!

Great hotel for those restricted by budget! Very clean, and the breakfast was acceptable if you are a lover of danish pastries! Do Not attempt to find your way to the hotel from the termini, the instructions given by the hotel are useless!! We walked around for an hour trying to make sense of the directions and ended up getting a taxi, which cost 20 euro (ripped Off). We had a twin room which was quite small but adequate, if all you want to do is sleep in it! The staff were not over friendly, they did speak english but they never went out of their way to give any tourist information. The 61 bus close to the hotel was a god send! it took you straight into the bus station in the centre. But beware, the bus stop you get on at, is not the bus stop you get off at! due to the one way system! Watch out for the shop named "Baby Shoes" and get off there! All the bus stops have names and once you get used to the system it is really quite easy to master! You buy a bus ticket from a news stand for 1 euro that lasts for 75 minutes and you can use it on both buses and the metro, or you can buy a ticket for 4 euro that lasts until midnight. Overall we had a wonderful time. But it is essential you do some reading before you go, the fromers guide to rome was a god send!!
