Convenient location - Dated decor but remember you're in Cyprus!
Firstly lets start by saying this is a budget hotel. We had a self catering studio apartment and although dated it was sufficient for our stay, however could have done with a little more self catering equipment and a simple remote for the 13" tv would have been a luxury. The cleaning ladies were pleasant (although 8.30 on the first day was a little early) and they cleaned and changed towels on a regular basis. The pool was lovely and there were always sunbeds available (was early in April so may get busier in season). Located within walking distance (1-2km) of the harbour area, downtown and the tomb of kings. The Kings Avenue shopping complex is a 5 minute walk away also. All in all would we go again?...definitely!
The best thing about my stay was...Pool was lovely and the kids and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Enjoyed our week but food very disappointing.
The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel needs some basic repair work done and could do with modernisation. The food choices were limited and could vary due to the time you eat. You had to shower early to get hot water. The staff worked hard and were very pleasant when asked to help. Do not think this hotel merits a three star rating.
The best thing about my stay was...The air conditioning in the room was great.

One big friendly party
This was my seventh visit,I find the hotel small and friendly and as a solo traveller that is very important.I choose a twin room with pool view, the sunsets were amazing this time of the year(August-September)though you need the second floor.jamie is at the bar and provides various entertainment and we also had some live acts.Mikaela does a sterling job in the restaurent(against the odds at times!)and often joins in with the customers at night.rooms are clean and functional,no frills, reflected in the price,Nikos still at the helm.
The best thing about my stay was...Using the pool for swimming and chats,it was extremely hot.

My family....myself , husband and 2 daughters aged 11 and 9 years have just returned from a week at the Paphiessa. The staff were wonderful, very helpful and were great with the children. The hotel is spotlessly clean and not dated as some reviewers have put but rather decorated in traditional colours and furniture. The towels were changed every day and the rooms were cleaned each day whilst we were out. The beds are not very comfortable and the kitchen is very small, not really usable for self catering. We were half board and although the food choices are very limited...what we had was well cooked and varied and kept hot. Breakfast is muesli and cornflakes, sausage, beans ,scrambled eggs and continental style.Dinner was soup and a choice of 2 meat based meals and 1 vegetarian...plus creme caramel , jelly and ice creams for sweets. As i said...not much choice but well presented for the price. The pool is clean and adequate with plenty sun beds...so no made rush needed. The entertainment at night is basic to say the least...live singers, quiz nights ,karaoke etc...bit too much like butlins not fantastic but passes the night away if you want a quiet drink. Mainly older guests at the hotel, with a few families and couples...35+.....a few young couples but rarely any noise or trouble. A lovely hotel for a quiet, family stay.within easy reach of the harbour, town , beaches and sights using the local buses...12euros a weekly bus ticket each...much cheaper then the taxis.
The best thing about my stay was...The peace and quiet and the helpfulness of the staff.

As lively as you make it
Ann Upex, Darlington
My 6th visit as for solo travellers it is small and friendly. The food was much better, still buffet style, not a massive choice but they will accommodate requests if nothing suits.Entertainment is fairly low key, quiz, bingo, karaoke, but they also had 2 live acts this time, this usually results in a lively night,as late as you want! Been a few minor changes for the better, the motto there is if you don't ask you don't get, very true. Rooms better on the pool view side, old fashioned but clean.
The best thing about my stay was...Joining other guests after dinner at the bar

Excellent friendly hotel.

Just returned yesterday from an 11 night stay at the Paphiessa Hotel, Paphos. Had a fantastic time with the hotel being brilliant. Nikos the owner was extremely friendly & helpful - if you don't ask you don't get is his policy. The Paphiessa was cleaned everday by the hardworking staff & the pool was a dream. Jamie the mananger was brilliant & kept the entertainment going everynight. All the staff were friendly and good fun and we would definately recommend that people give the Paphiessa a try. We will definately use it again.
The best thing about my stay was...The friendly atmosphere & helpful staff - nothing is too much trouble.
