Great stay early September in ROC Costa Park Hotel
Alan , Northern Ireland
I stayed at this lovely 4 star Hotel early September 2018 for 9 nights. I arrived at about 8.30 on a Saturday evening and found the booking in process fast and trouble free also it was handy that dinner was still open till 10 so I did not miss out The Hotel is very big and has many facilities - it is a typical old fashioned Andalucian type hotel with big everything and marble everywhere It has free wi-fi with ads which are non intrusive The selection at Breakfast ( starts at 8 am) is massive as is dinner- the latter is quite busy and I found that rather than rush in with everyone else at 7.30 opening time it was better to wait an hour for it to quiet down Staff were very friendly- in my case I like to walk and was out every day- there is also a train station nearby which costs 1euro 80 cents to get across to Benalmadena in 15 minutes saving 2 hours of walking All a very good value for money hotel ( half board cost only £48 a night) with quick access to airport ( only 5 miles away transfer time 10minutes) situated in a nice 'park setting ' back from the front ( there is a free shuttle bus to the beach) with entertainment for kids and adults alike
The best thing about my stay was...I liked the proximity to airport and local train station

Not a 4*
brian herbert, United Kingdom
Well we enjoyed our week in the Roc Costa Park, but a few little things were not to our liking it is advertised as a 4* the room we had in the main building was very clean but the furniture was very dated their was no fridge and the walls needed a lick of paint as their was a large damp spot by the bathroom door. We had a balcony that had no sun all day and it looked onto the other building so no view and the curtains needed to be kept closed for privacy. The lobby was very nice and the bar and canteen were kept very clean so no complaints their, I call it a canteen as that is what it resembled at meal times, the food was ok for a A/I hotel . While we were there their was only 1 pool available but it was never crowded but it did open at 11 which was a strange time to open. The entertainment team did a good job in getting people involved and if you didn,t want to you were never pressured. The hotel itself was well run and very clean but a long way from the beach the free bus ran from 9 45 till 13 15 and then again from 1715 till 1945 if you missed it or wanted to stay in the town it was a 7euro taxi ride back there all in all if you want a Hotel just for the family and a long way from any entertainment this is the place for you
The best thing about my stay was...Great staff and very clean

Some excellent parts but they weren’t ready for people arriving
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We were a little surprised when we first arrived. We were one of three English couples and the demographic was aimed towards the elderly Spainish trips staying at the hotel. This did change though further into the hotel to a 5050 British Spanish mix. The hotel was not ready for the Easter holidays and hadn’t completed setting up. On our first two days, the terrace bar near the pool was closed and everywhere was being painted. The kids water park was also being fixed too (this did not open during our stay) and the snack bar and second pool are also out of use too. It did improve hugely when the holiday rush increased and the pool bar was open to serve drinks. We weren’t all inclusive (half board) and found it difficult to get food at lunchtimes as we couldn’t go in the restaurant. We also got told off for eating our own food too. The pool is not heated (it needs to be as it’s cold) but it didn’t stop people going in. Also, the pool doesn’t open until 11:00, so there often was a lot of people hanging around waiting to go in when the lifeguard unlocked the pool. I think if people are queuing to get in 45 minutes before then the hotel should consider opening earlier. The staff at the hotel were great though. Exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The Guest Relations Manager (Imed) welcomed us and made sure we knew what to do during meal times and went above and beyond to make sure everything was ok. He also recommended local places to visit in the area and answered any questions we had. The entertainment and bar staff were also exceptionally welcoming, remembering individual guests and making you feel valued. The entertainment staff tried to get get guests involved in activities during the day but didn’t push you if you weren’t interested. We also stayed in the hotel every evening to watch the excellent entertainment. I’d suggest after the entertainment concludes at 22:30, a variety of music at the disco should be played as it was mainly Spanish orientated. The restaurant was good and there was a large amount of choice with starters, mains, salads, desserts, fruit, bread etc. Overall we had a nice holiday but there were a few things that the Roc chain could improve.
The best thing about my stay was...The Guest Relations Manager, the entertainment and bar staff were very welcoming.
