Ok but not a 4 star.
Will start with the positives, nice and clean hotel with lovely outside areas, plenty of tables/chairs and could always get a sun bed. Hairdryer in the rooms. Food ok, you always find something even if it is bits instead of a proper meal, but the selection isn't huge, normal selection of meats, fish and salads. Maids clean and change towels daily. 10/15 walk to the beach. Bus stop at the end of the road. The negatives......this hotel has air con but they didn't turn it on we stayed a week at Easter, and the temperature was very hot for this time of year, you don't control your own air con unit the hotel does, and we asked 3 occasions for them to turn it on and was basically told no, the hotel is hot and stuffy and trying to sleep at night was awful, had to leave the balcony door open to allow a slight breeze in but then you were attacked by mosquitos! Other families were also complaining of the lack of air con. Beds very hard. No Free Wifi anywhere, you can pay €25 a week but it only works in reception, for a 4 star hotel I found this poor. Staff not friendly at all, and we always go out of our way to be polite and talk a little Spanish but this was not appreciated or noticed at all, the worse staff are in the restaurant! The food is not labelled so it's a bit of a guessing game and pot luck what you get, again for a 4 star this is poor. Non existent entertainment, pool table which was broken and table tennis. Would not return to this hotel. Have also stayed at another one of the royal hotels, the royal Costa which is a 3 star and that ranked higher than this one.
The best thing about my stay was...Outside bar area.

Had a great holiday. We were all Inclusive and found the food and drink good Our room was large with a very large bathroom. The pool was a good size but quite shaded at certain times. The location is only 5 minutes from the each and town centre. The local buses stop near the hotel and run to Malaga and Fuengirola. The evening entertainment is poor as it is aimed at the Spanish. I would go again as I thought it's value for money

Just returned from a four night stay at this large hotel in Torremolinos. Hotel very clean and well presented. plenty of outside space, well kept gardens and plenty of sun beds.Nice pool but too cool for swimming this time of year. Buffet breakfast and dinner with usual choices of food. Although the soup was never hot and the meat overcooked.Deserts were best part of the menu and plentiful. .We would stay at this hotel again as overall it was very good and we enjoyed our holiday.
The best thing about my stay was...Our room with beautiful sea view and kept very clean.

Friendly hotel within easy reach to the train station, good sized rooms with comfy beds. 10 minutes walk to the beach but there is a good sized swimming pool with ample room for all. Sun and shade options. We booked half board but having tasted the food , would return on a room only basis as food was not good at all. Reluctant to pay for the wifi, however there are so many places offering free internet so not a problem
The best thing about my stay was...View from bedroom ,we were on the 5 th floor with lovely views of the sea.

Staff were great but as it was just out of session they were very few trying to cover a lot of jobs so the service was at times very slow . The hotel was lovely and the rooms were large and clean with amazing views out to sea . The one down side which was a shame was the food , not very particular and I don't consider myself a fussy eater having said that we didn't starve and for the price it would have been just as easy to eat out but that is not what you want if you have paid for all inclusive !!

The hotel is set in a good location and the interior design is impressive with some very interesting art features around the hotel .The rooms were clean and tidy and the bathroom was very large and had his and hers sinks. The all inclusive deal was adequate although there was a poor choice of meat from the hot plate and I only saw chicken once in 3 days . The salad bar was lovely however fussy eaters within my party were disappointed with the food . The bar staff need a lesson in smiling and service delivery. They made no effort to be friendly and it was sometimes felt awkward ordering drinks when they were struggling to manage their work stress. The gym was fab and I was probably the only person who used it in the hotel. On the whole my negative experiences would not put me off returning to the hotel as it was excellent value for money which was reiterated by the fussy eaters in my party .
The best thing about my stay was...The standard of the accommodation , it's location and value for money .

Not for anyone under 40!
Lauren , Portsmouth
This hotel is very dated and aimed for the older people. The rooms and areas with in the hotel was faultless, very clean and tidy. The pool area was dirty, the stairs into the pool were coming away and a light that was supposed to be attached inside the pool was hanging. Food! Personally I refused to eat there due to receiving a toasted sandwich with mild in the bread, the all inclusive drinks were pretty much water! Also the lack of staff made getting drinks or food very hard! This hotel says 4star but I'd give it a 2?
The best thing about my stay was...The beach.

Horrible worst holiday ever
Joanne , Yorkshire
I booked this hotel to go half term with my son who is 9, holiday club..... Not a holiday club member in sight half term for the first 3 days he was the only child there. Staff rude!!! From reception to bar staff arrogant rude. The food is shocking no variation at all bland horrible recycled crap. I went half board so glad I wasn't all inclusive. We ate out so spent a fortune having to drink and dine out. Had to get the doctor to the hotel costing 100 euros I was crying at reception my son was so ill porbably picked up a bug from the food being violently sick. Staff had no compassion towards me single mum with her son, I didn't eat or drink in the hotel was stuck in my room with my son while he slept for 16 hours. There was no offer of any help!! Truly terrible. The maids were the best staff the rooms was lovely and big and they came in and cleaned every day with fresh towels. Never again would I stay in this hotel it should not have the 4 stars it's awarded. More like 2.......
The best thing about my stay was...Nothing couldn't wait to get home

Lovely hotel, rooms and gardens shame about the food.
Suzie, Nottinghamshire, UK
Have stayed here twice but dont think I will stay again. The room was excellent, large and roomy with view of the sea. The biggest problem is the food. Very boring, not enough selection. Have stayed in various hotels in Torremolinos that provide better food and service in the dining room. Not enough staff for dining room or bar. Also cleaning is a bit sparse, the absolute bare minimum. Beds were changed only once in a week. Wouldn't grade it as a four star.
The best thing about my stay was...The room

there is no such thing as a cheap luxury hotel...
A shabby and understaffed old hotel. They actually served us dirty plates and tableware at breakfast! It's cheap, though...
The best thing about my stay was...I was glad we only stayed for one night...

lovely hotel - Shame about the food
Amanda & Shaun, Coleraine, Northern Ireland
We've stayed in the Royal Al Andalus numerous times but this will be our last time. The room was great - very big and roomy. View of pool and the sea in the distance. The hotel has been changed to an all inclusive which makes meal times a nightmare. We had booked half board for 2 nights and only ate in the restaurant the 1st night as it was terrible. The cook/chef could not keep up with the demand for food. The waiting staff hadn't a clue what they were doing and had no idea where things were. The breakfast wasn't any better again the cook could not keep up with the demand for eggs. We ate out in one of the many restaurants close by near the beach - couldn't face the hotel restaurant. Won't be back to this hotel.
The best thing about my stay was...Location of the hotel near the beach area and lovely bedroom

Good hotel shame about the food
Roger and Susan Partridge, Northants
Stayed at this hotel October 7/11 by accident really as we had booked a hotel a little way up the coast which had a damaged floor. The check in was pleasant and speedy the hotel and room were excellent, The real problem we had was with the food to our taste it was terrible even the free crisps around the pool area were soggy and stale shame. We wont be returning.

could have been better, wasn't happy about paying to use the safe. there was also no iron to iron your lothes or kettle in room for one to make a drink throughout the day. All in all a good clean hotel, and close to the beach..friendly staff what speak in Spanish... As Vegetarians menu can do with a bit of change apart from salad and chips for dinner...
The best thing about my stay was...less time for transfers, went to relax and thats what happened...

8 day stay for summer break
elizabeth hignett, Prudhoe
we have stayed at this hotel for many years and this was our worst experiance.the food was shocking pork pork and more pork. the puddings were the same day after day we had turkey for lunch chicken for our evening meal and chicken the next day and ofcourse pork. we had to clear our own plates etc as there was two waiters for the whole dining room. we were all inclusive and believe me we were treat like second class people. we were given a list of what we could have for snacks on it was pizza , no no we were told you have cheap everything not pizza' they fail to relize that we had already paid and werent asking for anything not allowed' so after all theae years of going to this hotel we will not be retuning'
The best thing about my stay was...good bedroom and gardens

Poor selection of food, never hot
Jennifer Mulford, Kings Lynn
Although the hotel was nice the room was lovely, and staff pleasant, for a four star hotel the selection of food was poor especially the sweets, even if you got to the dinning room at opening time the food was never hot, I would rate the hotel purely on the food as a 3 star

Food was rubbish
Kushwant Singh, Leeds
This hotels all inclusive food is the worst I've ever had, not at all up to 4 star standards. How can you have a hotel that out of three days only have bacon on one but claims to serve a English breakfast, had pasta one lunch the worst ever waiter charged us for a pizza by the pool?? Thought we were all inclusive???? Good bits nice and clean!!!
The best thing about my stay was...It was nice and clean
