6/10 Good

Dogs in restaurant ?

Hotel was clean , was a bit alarmed when after check in was asked to get into a van with our luggage to get to our room as it was up a hill and into the hotel imperial which is the sister hotel next door. The room was weary nice and quite new. Food was ok but not the best I've seen in a all inclusive hotel , there were days when I didn't eat anything at all from the restaurant and due to this we went down the steep hill that the hotel sits on and went to a local restaurant where the food was very nice. The drinks were local variaties which meant of poor quality and I purchased my drinks at the site shop .

The best thing about my stay was...

Nice weather

1 week all inclusive stay aug 2015 with a 5 year old

Just arrived back from a lovely week away with my husband and 5 year old son. The hotel has 7 pools of you include the ones situated in the imperial those these are literaly only a 1 minute walk from the royal, evening sharing evening entertainment. Great variety of pools from 40cm deep to 4m deep! Only problem with pools was the salt water used though I think this is more personal taste than anything. Pool area extremely clean and pool bars/snack bars very convenient and decent food. The restaraunt was a standard all inclusive one with food being a bit hit and miss and sanely by the end of the week, though all cooked well and 9 times out of 10 tasted good. The staff in restaraunt are very good and efficient at clearing away etc so always a table ready for you even at busy periods. The entertainment at the hotel is as awful as some of the reviews I read before going. It is the worst I have ever come across, not because the staff are no good, it is just due to however decided on the evening shows. The standard poolside activities were good (though quite repetitive) but at the evenings they played the same 1 hour cd every night for kids mini disco then the evening show was another background cd played for an hour while they mimed along to it. On our first night we endured Zoro the musical, where they mimed along to the script being read out on the cd, having sword fights with flimsy plastic swords and can honestly say that there wasn't even a plot line to the 60 confused minutes. Had a really fab week, very child friendly. Entertainment lets the hotel down though if you can instead enjoying mocking the awkwardness of the whole thing, and drink a few more all inclusive drinks, you will survive. Would definatley recommend the prvate boat trip the black rose. Pick you up and drop you to the hotel 11.30am-5.00pm. €35 including bbq lunch on board and free for children. Highlight of our stay

The best thing about my stay was...

The variety of pools

Some arrangements could be better

Hotel itself was quite good, food perfect, very tasty icecream. Tea was missing, served just for breakfast. Some dishes and tea pots not clean. If you prefer rest by the sea then you need to count with 15/20min walk until you get there. Beach towels for additional payment.

The best thing about my stay was...

Good weather and warm sea

Brilliant return visit

This was our second visit to the hotel this season, firstly may then end sept. we came with our daughter and her children, ages 3 & 4. It was perfect for the children, and also for us oldies! The food was very good, a good variety, to suit all tastes, we all enjoyed the meals immensely, the all inclusive option, we thought was excellent value. All the pools were very clean and catered for all ages and abilities. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day, with clean linen and towels. But best of all were the Animation team, who worked tirelessly, all day and all night. I have NEVER been entertained so well, in any hotel or resort before. The team put on a different show 6 nights a week; which was funny, talented, and better than some West End shows I have seen!! These young people should be congratulated for their dedication and energy. I just wish we could see them perform again, but they work for TUI, who are going to change the format next year of their entertainment, which I think is a great pity!

The best thing about my stay was...

The entertainment by the Belgian Animation Team

Great Hotel

This was my third stay at this hotel and my family and I have been very happy with the hotel and service. Lots to do at the resort and it is geared to younger families, however I'm sure that older children / teenagers can find plenty to do at Star Beach and in Hersonisos town. Food is good, I, like most people, get a little board after two weeks but the quality is always there. The location of the Hotel is good and a ten minute stroll takes you to the beautiful village of Koutouloufari, walking further takes you to Fiskopiano and Hersonison Town that are also very pleasing on the eye. Hersonison port is nice town with harbour and whilst being developed in a typically Greek style it still retains charecter. Hotel rooms are clean and fairly basic but family rooms are spacious and ideal for larger families. Yes I'm sure that the rooms aren't 4* by UK standards, but how many UK hotels boast 6/7 swimming pools one being Olympic sized?? if you spend most of your time in the hotel room on a holiday in Crete then maybe you should stick to the UK. If you are going to Crete and looking for a good standard AI holiday the Royal and Imperial Belvedere come highly recommended.

The best thing about my stay was...

This hotel is situated near some picturesque Greek villages and facilities of Hersonisos Port, unlike other AI resorts that I have experienced
