Nice functional stay
Naveed Syed, Birmingham, UK
The service you experienced was polite and friendly at all times with helpful staff able to converse in English. The room was of a standard comparable to the UK Travelodge - clean and well maintained with good modern decor. Some minor problems with WiFi access. Staff managed to arrange onward stay at a sister Travelodge in Madrid when I was checking out. Would definitely stay again there with my family.
The best thing about my stay was...Nice clean modern room

basic but clean and great as a base.
Budget hotel but had everything we needed. 2 adults and 2 children, we used this as a base during our stay in Barcelona and were more than comfortable. Within your room there was ample room and beds comfortable, immaculate bathroom and living space. There is a petrol station adjacent to the building and never any noise. It is however a littlle. Out of the way but we hired a car so no odds to us. Friendly staff couldnt do enough for us, gave me a hairdryer to use, extra bedding and pillows. Airconditioning within the room but once switched on i had to call reception to switch it off if required. Ultimately i would both recommend this hotel and stay here again.
The best thing about my stay was...cleanliness

Great Price, Great Room, Great Breakfast

You can't beat a travelodge for value and this one is no exception. The hotel is great for staying at while exploring Barcelona or, as we did, take in a game at the Nou Camp. With bus stops very close everything is within easy reach. As with all travelodges the room was clean and gave us exactly what we expected. The breakfast is an eat all you want type with a great selection of food and I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely book again when in Barcelona next time.
The best thing about my stay was...Breakfast

Very clean and helpful staff. The aircon is controlled via the reception but any problems they will adjust the temprature. just a liitle out of the way when it comes to the metro or bus services all in all great value for money.

This hotel represented excellent value as we needed it for one night before getting on a cruise. We agree aboutthe industrial area but the cinema complex was busy and we found everyone very helpful and friendly. The taxi driver was Ok but I think I knew the way better than him. overall clean comfortable and plenty of hot water all your need for 12 hours!! Mind you if we were staying in barcelona this would be how you say a little off the beaten track!!!

If you've ever stayed in a travelodge in the UK then you will know what to expect here. The room layout is exactly the same as most in the UK: reasonably sized with comfortable beds, minimum furniture, a good bathroom with plenty of hot water and clean towels and the place is clean and modern. The only difference that I could see was that there was no kettle for making hot drinks in the room. There is a bar in the lobby of the hotel where coffee and a range of alcoholic and soft drinks were available at reasonable prices. The breakfast was adequate and served buffet style. This means that you could eat enough to keep you going for some time should you wish! However, the coffee was from a machine and was not particularly good for Spain where even cheap cafes serve fresh coffee as the norm. Like many UK Travelodges the hotel is in a commercial/industrial part of town and rather off the normal tourist trail. If one was driving there it should be easy to find but otherwise most people would want to use a taxi. It is about 15 minutes walk from the nearest station at Ildefons Cerda, a station on the Gran Via which is quite well hidden. There are buses that stop nearby (72 & 79) and the N1 night bus stops about 10 minutes away but it means walking through a deserted area of office blocks and building sites which some people might be wary of. I found that no-one seemed to know where the travelodge was even when they had shops only a block or two away. It is also off many of the tourist maps! Having said all that, if you don't mind walking it is about 15 minutes to Montjuic one of the main and most interesting tourist areas. Once you are on a train/tube or bus it is very easy to get around Barcelona and also cheap. Buy a ten journey card for a discount! This hotel is obviously aimed at business travellers who will find it adequate and comfortable. Tourists may find that it lacks atmosphere and is bit far from the city centre but it is quite cheap for Barcelona and it is quiet at night which many town centre hotels are not! If you are happy to be out all day and don't need to return to the hotel too often this would be a good base for a trip to Barcelona.

Excellent value for money!!
Lesley Siverns, west midlands, england
stayed for a couple of nights in this basic, but very comfortable Travelodge. After reading several reviews on other websites was a little apprehensive. Yes it is out of the way on an industrial estate but as long as you keep your wits about you then there should be no problems! We had loads pf help from the staff regarding trams, trains and taxis so if we came back late at night we had all options covered. Within easy walking distance is a lovely shopping mall with excellent choice for food. You just go out of the hotel, turn left and at the 1st roundabout turn right. After the exhibition centre look to your right and you will see the Cinema complex - that is where the action is!! If you only manage to get room only dont worry you can pay for breakfast at 7.50euros each. It is very basic - tea, coffee, juices with spanish bacon, chipolata sausages and scrambled eggs - but well worth the extra. We are planning our next visit to Barcelona and have no worries about staying at this hotel again. The only down side was the taxi drivers are not too sure about where the hotel is so take a full print out of the address - just in case you get our driver Danny Devito who hadn't got a clue and it cost us 30.00 euros!!
